So, about 1 year ago, we got this prepaid SIM card from the red camp because of a few reasons:-
- Free low bandwidth data for business communication purposes, eg WhatsApp
- We have yellow camp SIMs already.
- Other camps need monthly subscription for data.
The sales person at the official store told us that we could pay around RM30 to keep the number active for 1 year even if we never top up the credit. To our horror, after we top up RM30 into the card and tried to activate the so-called 1 year validity service, it failed.
I called up the customer service and god knows who answered my called. From that typical Hindi-slanged English, we all know which part of the world we’ve connected to. After 15+ minutes of explaining my situation and being forced to do their so-called standard troubleshoot procedure, finally he told me that my prepaid package is not eligible for the service.
He even further confirmed that I need to change the number in order to change the SIM package. Ultimate facepalm right here.
I should’ve picked the orange camp instead. D*mn it.
