Week 15 of 52
I do know that a large part of Kuala Lumpur (KL) is still covered with old buildings especially those shop lots which could date back to 1960s. But most of the time I would be the one who drives, so I rarely pay close attention to the buildings along the road. One thing for sure is the change of scenery is extremely obvious when you pass through the definitive line between the “old section” and “new section”.
So last Saturday I was there trying to look for a particular building somewhere nearby the Dynasty Hotel, and I had the chance to walk around the rear streets of Jalan Ipoh. If you ask me if I’m afraid of being mugged, to be frank, I’m super afraid LOL.
Found the place I’m looking for and by chance, had the opportunity to access the roof of the building. The scenery from there is a kind of eye opener for me. Clearly there are still people live in those buildings and I can’t imagine the monthly rental fee they had to pay for that kind of living environment.
