Project 955 is named after the model of this processor – AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition.
This is AMD’s black edition quad core processor, which means the multiplier has being unlocked and overclocking this processor is piece of cake.
The box design is just nice. Like any other processor packaging, it displays the processor for us to determine the product code and batch code.
Open box reveals a white box contains the heatsink & fan, transparent package contains the processor chip & sticker, and the user manual.
This retail heatsink is larger than any other older AMD’s retail heatsink. (Correct me if I’m wrong)
Unlike Intel’s boring chip details, I like AMD’s chip labeling, the font and so on…
Processor on board. ^^
This is my first time using AMD’s setup, by the way, I’m still waiting for other parts such as the casing, power supply, graphics card and etc to arrive… Thus I think this project would not finish in short term.
Whoah .. i wish i have that processor .. my workstation need more powwahhhh …. btw, what board is that ?
yeah, AMD is cheaper solution for performance.
The board is ASUS M4A77TD PRO.
Nice, I bet it will run AMAZING once its finished, I have been balancing on the idea of building a new computer. Though I am not much of a PC gamer so I may hold off on it specially since my credit card is maxed at the moment >.<
Also, AMD Processors are amazing. Ever since I used one I have always preferred them over Intel, but thats just me.
