Ching Ming or Qing Ming Festival, which is known as Chinese Tomb Sweeping Day, is one of the most important traditional Chinese festival after the Lunar New Year. The day falls on the third day of the third month in Chinese Lunar calendar which translates to around last week of March or first week of April.
According to ancient Chinese customs, the grave sweeping can be carried out within 10 days before and after the exact date. This allows the family members to schedule their time of visit as the exact date is not considered as public holiday.
For me, I believe that Ching Ming is an extremely meaningful festival where we the descendants gets to remember our ancestors so that we never forget who we are and where we came from.
Here’s the photos I’ve taken during Ching Ming festival.
